DISCOVER ARCHERY

In our DISCOVER ARCHERY camps & classes you will have lots of fun learning the sport by playing archery games, shooting traditional targets, balloons,3d animals, monsters and moving targets in our archery arcade. You finish this class or camp as a proficient archer using the 11-step US Olympic team shooting system! Afterwards you can continue into the EXPLORE ARCHERY program, and then JUNIOR OLYMPIC ARCHERY DEVELOPMENT (JOAD Program), and after that the JOAD TEAM, and the HIGH PERFORMANCE TEAM if that is your goal. All Classes are taught by formally trained and USA Archery certified instructors and coaches

DISCOVER FENCING

The LEARN TO FENCE boys and girls fencing classes & camps are tons of fun – What kid doesn’t want to play with swords – safe Olympic sport swords of course.  Each activity includes swordplay footwork, drills, games and Olympic style bouting. Each fencer who completes this class or camp ready for the next level of Developmental fencing, and then we have the local developmental team, and the National team if you wish to train to that level. Our coaches students have won the Olymoic team Silver Medal and risen to the top in the country with to many national, and international results to list here – however we have a fun recreational-developmental fencing program no matter what level you are. The programs are all led by master level certified instructors!

DISCOVER BOXING

This class is designed to be for boys ages 12-18 to explore boxing in a fun supportive environment while building a strong foundation for boxing, and if the group or some of the group is interested they can be introduced to kickboxing, and MMA. You will learn fundamentals such as stance, basic punches, combinations, basic footwork, and defense. This DISCOVER BOXING class does not have actual sparring or head and body contact included – that can come later if you continue to future levels of EXPLORE, JUNIOR OLYMPIC BOXING DEVELOPMENT (JOBD), and of course with the JOBD/MMA TEAMS program.  The boxers ages are separated into partners of the same age and class when doing drills. This class is taught by professional instructors, coaches and renowned boxers and MMA professionals.

CAL SPORTS CLUB: Olympic Sport Combo Camps

These all-day camps combing archery, fencing, boxing, and outdoor adventure/nature are awesome combinations you can choose from to create your own sport adventure combination! These camps are for beginners to intermediate boys and girl’s of all ages and they are separated into age and level groups with their own mentors/guides with each camp being led by one of our high level certified Instructors.

CAL ADVENTURES:  Outdoor Adventure Training & Nature Education

In our CAL ADVENTURE CAMPS, CLINICS & OUTINGS  you will have lots of fun in the OUTDOORS and NATURE and make new friends. These camps separate you into age and interest groups. Some programs are designed by the participants themselves by picking activities in a camp for example and some events or a camp has pre planned activities. We transported to special events locations in our mobile sport and adventure club shuttle bus! These camps are led by Daniel Tibbetts (thats me) who has been doing these camps for 30 years. He has his top certified junior assistants and networking professional friends in all these areas of expertise! I am a Fencing Master, Head Archery Coach, Certified Fly & Spin Fishing Instructor & Guide, I was a  Park Ranger, Campground operator, Forest Fire Fighter, Conservation Specialist, Naturalist, Wilderness Traveler, Hunter, and Natural Horsemanship Trainer to name a few of my outdoor pursuits of which I am all certified in. Here are just a few examples to take a look at of some events and camps we do – we always add some activities and are flexible in the week-long camps. I add new ones each year.

• ADVENTURE COMBO CAMPS: These are my favorite camps and encompass many activities. Some activities may be twice weekly like Monday-Wednesday and all day or half day, or one whole day weekly. For example my favorite is 10:00-1:00 each day is an activity scheduled ie., Ocean Sport Monday, Dirtbike Tuesday, Horseback ride Wednesday, Archery Range Thursday, Fishing Friday and the participants get to choose the activities in the afternoons with something close by…
• ARCHERY ADVENTURES: Travel around too outdoor Ranges, walk archery trails with targets (like frisbee golf through the hills), and even archery tag – played exactly like dodgeball in the field, forest, or on the beach.
• FISHING ADVENTURES: We are certified fishing guides and have all the gear for Spin & Fly fishing, teach casting technique, fish behavior, riparian education, conservation, and even get a private charter boat for Monterey Bay.  We only take 10 max so get all your friends to sign up and you own your own camp and even design it!
• SEASIDE ADVENTURES: This may include visits to the Seymour Center, Tide pool explorations, beach playtime and games, surfing lessons, ocean/slough kayaking, a ocean horseback ride in Half Moon Bay perhaps, and more.
• OFF-ROAD ADVENTURES: These camps are awesome in the Santa Cruz Mountains while learning the basics of riding trail motorcycles in a professional setting and facility, maybe some mountain biking, hiking to the river and some swimming, maybe a trip to Hollister hills for some Side by Side Adventures, and throw in some archery.
• HORSEMANSHIP ADVENTURES: Take some group lessons, go for a trail ride, learn a bit of basics on ground training and tricks, a bit of horse behavior, Go for an ocean ride, try shooting a bow and arrow off a horse (it’s a real sport), and some other horse or nature activities!
