RECREATIONAL CAMPS: Beginner-Intermediate levels
For the entire community & club members
Try Fencing and Archery. Learn to use a modern Olympic foil and bow and arrow with skill and confidence! Campers are divided by age and ability. Each camp has beginning to advanced levels so no matter what your experience each camp is designed for you! Repeat campers are welcome and we have the next level for you whether you are doing more than one camp this summer, or returning from past years! We supply all the equipment and our staff is made up of professionally certified coaches. Dress athletically (no open toed shoes allowed) and bring a snack and water bottle, and we take care of the rest!
Experience Nature, Horses & Outdoor Adventure. These camps are unique and like no other you have ever experienced! On the first days meeting the week’s camp is designed to meet the interests of the group – the kids actually get to help design their own camp experience! Each week has different activities so that a camper could do every week and have different adventures! The Cal Sports Club Director leads these camps himself. He was a park ranger, naturalist interpreter, forget fire fighter, conservation worker, and he is a natural horsemanship trainer, certified Horsemanship instructor, certified archery instructor, and European trained and certified Fencing Master, as well as a sports therapist and personal trainer. He has experienced assisting camp leaders who are outdoor specialists and boy and girl scouts. Here is an example from a 2016 summer camp:
- DAY 1: Introduction to Natural Horsemanship, Introduction to Olympic and field archery, Nature hike.
- Day 2: Trip to Seymour Center Laboratory, Coastal flora and fauna meadow rehabilitation walk, Tide pool explorations & some beach play and games, Henry Cowell Redwood Interpretive Nature Hike, and nature exploration center (the best in bay area), Finish the day with some archery, horse care and bonding.
