Camp Descriptions & Information
- UNIQUE CAMP SYSTEM: We offer half-day camps that you can take or combine to make a full-day combo-camps! The camp Head Coach puts the kids into different age groups.
- THE STAFF: Each camp is directed by master level coaches and instructors. They are professionals (not students). They are assisted by interns from the CSC Coach’s College & Junior Mentorship Program in archery, fencing, horsemanship, and even fly fishing. Our camps are also unique as we invite and hire many guest lecturers, educators, and specialists to visit and educate our campers.
- EXPENSES: All equipment is included for all activities! Keep in mind many camps have extra expenses associated with them such as a van and driver, gas, park entry fees, an outside guide and rental fee like a slough kayak tour, or a horseback ride on the beach etc.
HALF DAY CAMPS
- FENCING CAMPS
The LEARN TO FENCE camp is a fun filled program of swordplay & Olympic fencing for those with no or little experience. You will learn basic footwork, bladework, do some drills, play games, and get to fence each other each day. Upon completion, you will be ready for the next level of class. This class is taught by professional Fencing Masters of the renowned California Fencing Academy who have trained Olympians, World Team Members, top 8 World Champion fencers, and many National Champions from youth-10 kids to Seniors ages. Classes are held at the California Fencing Academy Gym at 440 Marathon Drive, Campbell in the Cal Sports Club Facility. You get your own personal rental equipment, materials, and insurance for the duration of the activity which is partly paid with the additional material fee due the first day for $80.00 for camps payable to the coach on the first day by cash or check payable to Cal Sports Club
- ARCHERY CAMPS
This beginning DISCOVER ARCHERY camp is for those with no or little experience. This is an exciting and unique program that teaches you to be a real archer while shooting many types and sizes of target faces at various distances suited to your level and ability. You also get to have lots of fun practicing your new skills play other archery games, shooting balloons, 3d animals, in our Archery Arcade! You will learn all about safety, range rules, commands, and the 11 step USA National & Olympic Shooting cycle. This system teaches the basic form, technique, with clear and concise steps and goals, and it prepares everyone for the next level of program. Classes are led and supervised by US Archery L2 or higher certified instructors. Classes are held indoors at the California Archery Center at 440 Marathon Drive in Campbell – In the Cal Sports Club Facility unless otherwise stated. - HORSE CAMPS
CALIFORNIA HORSEMANSHIP SCHOOL. Directed by Daniel Tibbetts and led by Parelli Professional Trainer Sandi Parker with Junior Assistant Interns. Learn to bond, ride and care for a horse this summer. You will learn how to mount, dismount, start, stop, steer, and back up your horse while using natural horsemanship techniques. We use a unique circuit system of fun exercises, training games, and horse trick stations. This is a fun, highly educational week-long experience. We ride western style on experienced horses like Harley, French Frye, Shadow, Sadie, and Oreo. Camp includes horse/tack/training book & materials, and transportation to the stable and trail rides. Camps are led by Cal Sports Club’s Horsemanship School at Bear Creek Stables in Los Gatos and other local locations, but all riders meet at the California Fencing Academy to sign in and will be given rides to the stables and back for pick up.
FULL DAY CAMPS
See descriptions of half day camps above. All transportation from site to site or between activities is run with a Club Shuttle, all equipment and supplies provided.
