RECREATIONAL L2-3: Novice-Intermediate Fencing Classes & Camps
This is the level after the beginning course. We start to teach more advanced technique and tactics at this time. We start to learn about competition formats and build a personal strategy to fencing. We incorporate all types of fun and positive ways to learn this awesome sport.
All equipment is supplied, and all of our coaches are certified professionals at the international level.
Classes meet one or two times weekly. The program lasts about 4-6 months until you level up. This is a continuous year round month-to-month membership. This level can also be experienced with our beginning-Novice camps which are half-day week long sessions which can be combined with an archery camp to make all day camps! You will be placed you with your level of kids. Our international level coaches teach these recreational levels.
After your beginning class graduation, if you want to continue with fencing in the novice-intermediate level you would become a Cal Sports Club member.
RECREATIONAL L4-5: Intermediate-Advanced Fencing Classes & Camps
These classes and week-long camps take you to an awesome level of fencing with deeper concentration in technique, mechanics, and strategies. You will get to many different types of bouting formats and fun drills and exercises involving more self-discipline. You will be fencing with electronic scoring equipment.
Up to now CFA has supplied your equipment, however at this time you are required to buy some of your own gear (see the pro-shop page for a list and cost). This is a pre-developmental level that leads to our JOFD or Junior Olympic Fencing Development program and CFA National Team program if that is your goal.
The Intermediate-Advanced recreational program is an ongoing program that runs throughout the year that you can attend one, two, or even three times weekly. All uniform rental fees can still included, but your electrical equipment you will need to purchase at the least.
